“If you spend your life trying to be good at everything, you will never be great at anything.”
– Tom Rath, Strengths Based Leadership: Great Leaders, Teams, and Why People Follow
We are told that multitasking is a desirable trait. We hold people who can seemingly juggle many things at once and still seem to get things done.
But is it very realistic? If you are juggling, how long can that go on before one of the balls drops. And when it does drop, how bad is the fall?
Focus on what you want to be good at, don’t worry about trying to succeed at everything. The old adage of jack of all trades and master of none rings is still good advice. Focus on what you enjoy and find others to assist you with what you do not.
