So much about the spring racing carnival and the Melbourne Cup is about tradition. This year why not integrate the old with the new with the help of racing apps.
The race that stops a nation is just around the corner and the IOS app, available free of charge from the App Store, has been built with the race day experience in mind. It features field, form, analysis, and more; everything you need on the day.
There is also an online platform that compliments the app. The website features replays of races which will be released 30 minutes after the race concludes. Additional benefits of the app and platform is it integrates information from Racing Victoria, Country Racing Victoria and Melbourne Racing Club.
Racing Victoria Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer, Andrew Catterall said, “They will provide anywhere, anytime access to comprehensive racing data, news, video and more to meet the needs of everyone from serious racing enthusiasts to those who simply want to enjoy a social day at the races.”
And while it is great to have fun, moderation is important as well. The South Australian government has created an app, Stay On Track SA, to help people set spending limits on their bets. The app notifies you when you exceed your set limit. Download the free app for IOS here or Android here.
After a fun day at the races be sure to use the Wake Me Up! (Melbourne) app for IOS. Set your train station destination and your phone will alert you when you are getting close. It is a good safety net just in case a few too many beers makes you drowsy on the ride home.
