Last year Samsung suffered the debilitating blow of the batteries exploding in the Note 7. News headlines around the world featured stories of the phone overheating and even causing car fires. Now Samsung has introduced the Galaxy 8, a high-end smartphone aimed at earning back consumer confidence. The reviews are coming in and as long as this new Samsung can heat up without causing a fire it seems to be a winner.
Samsung now employs an eight-point battery test to ensure that as the battery heats up it doesn’t explode. With the launch of the new Galaxy 8 many people are putting the phone into the wait and see category. The early indications are that while the battery does get hot, so far there are no reported issues.
The review from CNET describes the Galaxy 8 as the ‘best-looking phone around crushes it in performance, battery life, water-resistance and wireless charging. An external storage slot lets you keep more photos, videos and music’.
In addition to all of the positive tech specifications the phone, the market seems to be well placed at the moment for another high-end smart phone. The Galaxy 8 is set to fill that hole in the market.
